WHY DO WE NEED TO CHOOSE STEM TRACK FOR 

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL SHS LEVEL?

Choosing a strand for your Senior High School SHS level seems to be one of the hardest part of being a student. It is just like choosing what is right for your future. Of course, we all have ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ but when the time comes and someone wants you to choose between them, “What would be your decision?”

As a current Grade 11 STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics student, I want to share some of the reasons why you must also choose STEM track in Senior High School SHS. So if you're still doubting about this matter, you may take some time to read the following.

*Nurture our minds to provide an immediate solution to a problem.

*Enable us to perform hands-on and minds-on lessons.

*It makes Mathematics and Science both fun, interesting and less difficult

 or it provides activities and exercises that we need for a better understanding

 of a specific topic.

*This strand allows us to use technological innovations in assessing issues and problems.

*It improves every student’s patience and ability in performing the different tasks given to them.

*This strand also suits all interest for our future careers.

*It teaches every student to become resilient.

*It improves our communication skills and promotes the importance of ‘teamwork’.

*Lastly, this track encourages knowledge application in real life situations.

These are just some of my realizations and observations about this track. It is not that easy to  make a decision about your own future but there is one thing that I can assure you, STEM track will help you find your own interest, it will guide you to grow as an individual, helps you in pursuing your passion and encourages you to perceive for the success of your chosen field.
